The Valkyrie
Based on a bronze figurine of a valkyrie from a find from Hårby, Denmark, dating back to the 7th century, I created my own character. My Valkyrie is also in a way a self-portrait with my own expression. The valkyrie is a powerful female figure from the Norse mythology who choose those who may die in battle and those who may live.

The making of the Valkyrie
By using this ancient figurine as a model, I recreated the Valkyrie by sketching her face with my own expression and interpretation. Then created a clay sculpture based on this, 3d scanned and colored it in vibrant colors. This 3d figure is used in virtual galleries, animated in videos and then also 3d printed and painted.
